Located on the rugged, picturesque island of Rügen in Northern Germany, Insel-Brauerei (The Island Brewery) was founded in 2015 with a bold mission: to rediscover "rare" and forgotten beer styles. Under the leadership of master brewer and beer sommelier Markus Berberich, the brewery has quickly become one of the most awarded craft breweries in the world, specifically celebrated for its innovation in the non-alcoholic space.
Insel-Brauerei doesn't follow the status quo. They are one of the few breweries left that uses open fermentation vats, allowing the yeast to breathe and develop complex, fruity esters that closed tanks simply can't replicate. Their non-alcoholic range, including the Surfers Summer Ale, is brewed with the same artisanal dedication—using top-fermenting yeasts and a specialized natural distillation process that preserves the beer’s vibrant "soul" without the alcohol.
